NEW Small everyday surf = The SS model. Undergoing a small change of making your board smaller and wider can be refreshing. We have always believed Shorter, Wider & Thicker is great for everyday surfing. We regularly have to surf average size beach breaks & sloppy wind swells that have both sucky and fat sections. The SS will pull you thru time & time again. Even the king of surfing Kelly Slater has gone a little shorter and wider lately! Ours has a little hip in the outline to quicken response time & double concave thru to a little Vee in the tail behind the back fin to make it loose & fast. Time to come in and demo one!

Sick of seeing potatoe chips and wafer thin whizsticks dominate the lineups and surf shop shelves.. Finally a mans board with beef for reef! Decently proportioned volume with abundant width under your feet to give the stability you need... A smooth low rocker for maximum drive in the tail combined with forgiving rails and subtle bottom contours will get you into waves not weight watchers! You dont need to order lots of thickness as we keep the deck quite flat and the rails tuned for maximum flow. Dru Adler worked with us on this model and prefers the diamond tail to get lots of projection and a swift turning board.

Designed to keep young tricksters happy, this Magic board is a long standing Favourite at Diverse. The double concave makes it faster and more maneuverable than your normal thruster. However the width gives stability and flow thru flatter surf. Although designed for teenage performers the Magic Mullet is often used by Grommits as a step up from a Foamie & Ladies who like the forgiveness.This board should be ordered about 4 inches shorter, 1 inch wider and 1/8th thicker than your favourite all round board. p.s. you dont need a mullet haircut to ride this baby!

The Monster Mullet shares the manouvreability of its little brother the Magic Mullet, but it has the volume and size to suit bigger or older surfers. a double concave helps the board roll from rail to rail and the double flyer swallow tail keeps the turns tight. With generous area in the nose and centre make it easy to catch waves and paddle. This board can be considered a high performance substitute for a mini mal, being shorter and more versatile but having more floatation. We have had so many customers make the Mullet thier choice of board for advancing thier surfing skills we are beginning to wonder if there will be a few waves left for us.

NEW The Twinny developed by Robert (Bob)Simmons in the late 40's in the USA. After Reading "Naval Architecture of Planing Hulls" Dave was inspired by a young American Shaper by the name of Ian Zamora to give the mini Twin a try. They certainly catch waves and are a great deal of fun to ride! The board features a Hull (rolled bottom shape) in the nose flowing thru to a flat bottom out the tail between two low profile keels positioned close to rails &the tail.. The Simmons Twin can take a little adjusting to as you gain speed by putting your weight to the back & you slow down to trim with the wave when you moove your weight forward! The Challenge of learning to ride the board is short lived and you get a lot of pleasure catching small waves & doing so much you would not think possible on small waves. The board is not limited to small waves by any means and the speed you can obtain with great control in the tube is outstanding!.

Martin won the 1977 British Junior Title & the 1982 British Open Titles riding this shape! with minor refinements and tuning tweaks Martin still rides this shape today! Martins Twin fin has gathered influence from Mark Richards, Derek Hynd, Martin Potter & Gordon + Smith to name a few. The Transition board! This board model comes from Dave's experiments 15 years ago after going snowboarding. Dave made the "bone" board & then kept things progressing. Over the next few years he kept creating abortions of the figure 8 outlines... As the return of the Quad fin became popular the merits of the wider tail were welcomed and the J-lo became a very user friendly board that allowed any one to have fun. The rear outline of the board allows the wave to be caught quickly and the board turns very easily on the hips. the full nose & volume allow it to paddle really well & Noseride incredibly well. the board features a double vee thru the fin area too. As There are 2 demos in the shop we have had an almost 100% success rate with customers trying them out then ordering customs.

The DJ was designed for fun and looks. Dave worked with Jason Blewitt (3x Aussie Longboard champ) to create this mix. It has the classic older looking full nose, combined with the tail of a regular shortboard. This makes for an easy to paddle shortboard that absolutely flys and carves just like a regular board. The clean flowing outline allows you to carry thru the slow sections and the rolled deck allows for proportional volume distribution. often chosen as a shortboard for longboard riders and great for beginners thru to relaxed rippers! Its best ridden in waves 1-6 ft.

he Traditional Surfboard of native tribes around the Pacific ocean. Tribesmen used these boards as thier daily driver! We find them to be lots of fun & a very educational. you dont need to be a pro, you just need to want to have fun. Using the edge like a snowboard, you will generate so much speed. in fact i think they are fastest thing i have ever ridden in the surf. Made from an environment friendly timber called Paulownia grown in Australia, they are shaped with traditional shaping tools. The Wood is water resistant in salt water (unlike Balsa which rots quickly when wet). The Alaia's However are not Glassed but treated regularly with Natural plant oils like Tung Oil. We invite you to come in a talk to Dave about them, even go for a surf with him & see how enjoyable they really are. There is a multitude of outlines & shapes that go well in all different ways & conditions.
