TWINNY MODEL

tw
The Twinny developed here at DIVERSE out of our desire to make boards that are fun to ride for all. The Twinny has amazing speed combined with incredible maneuverbility. Lots of people have made Twinnys recently, some gave up making them better 20 years ago! We rose to the challenge and have excelled in making a high performance stylist dream board. double vee and a nice concave jets you under the lip and thru all the sections. we like to use handmade wooden keel fins for extra drive and strength. Cognisours of style, the Twinnie is for you. Guaranteed to go vertical and ride deep in the tube. Suitable for 1-5 feet the board is advanced beyond all retrys and available in tints, pigments, polished & polyester! cool cats who have purchased one of these often have a SG single fin in thier lounge room and a DS sprint model in a board cover for the times when they want to feel a little change.

SIMMONS MODEL The Twinny developed by Robert (Bob)Simmons in the late 40's in the USA. After Reading "Naval Architecture of Planing Hulls" Dave was inspired by a young American Shaper by the name of Ian Zamora to give the mini Twin a try. They certainly catch waves and are a great deal of fun to ride! The board features a Hull (rolled bottom shape) in the nose flowing thru to a flat bottom out the tail between low profile fins positioned close to rails & the tail.. The Simmons can take a little adjusting to as you gain speed by putting your weight to the back & you slow down to trim with the wave when you moove your weight forward! The Challenge of learning to ride the board is short lived and you get a lot of pleasure catching small waves & doing so much you would not think possible on small waves. The board is not limited to small waves by any means and the speed you can obtain with great control is outstanding!. We make them in both Twin fin & Quad fin setups!

DEEJAY MODEL

The DJ was designed for fun and looks. Dave worked with Jason Blewitt (3x Aussie Longboard champ) to create this mix. It has the classic older looking full nose, combined with the tail of a regular shortboard. This makes for an easy to paddle shortboard that absolutely flys and carves just like a regular board. The clean flowing outline allows you to carry thru the slow sections and the rolled deck allows for proportional volume distribution. often chosen as a shortboard for longboard riders and great for beginners thru to relaxed rippers! Its best ridden in waves 1-6 ft.

Single Fin (SG)

When it comes to style you cant go past something like this. The SG is a Classic pod shape Single Fin from DIVERSE. This model has a wider nose & We put in the old school thickness, vee and concaves in all the right areas. If you enjoy singles as an alternative, they excell in tube riding & give you more freedom to move than your Longboard. The SG also is a great option instead of a Mini Mal. We usually add side bites bonza style! Color your dreams with your choice of Tints, Pigments and Polishes. Click here to see what stock is instore at Tugun now! The Diverse Broad Bean

A Short wide, fun to ride board...

The Broad Bean came about from the request of a very good long-boarder from our local
snapper rocks/rainbow bay area. Chelsea Williams had been away in USA competing and
surf travelling. when she came home, she came in to see me at my shop and said "i want
a change.. i have been riding longboards at world tour level for a few years, I would
like to ride something short for a while" i recoiled in surprise "what a short-board?"
"No she said a little bean pod, my friend has a Pod in the States, i want a little
round short thing". After a bit of research i found she had meant a Channel Islands Pod.
As i had never seen one in the flesh, i turned on google and had a quick squizz at them online.

So the Basics are a Wide Round outline, Volume forward and ease of use.
Once i got into the design and played around with the foil and Rails, i found out how much
volume i could conceal away in the board, i realized how much fun i could make this board.
Chelsea Surfs a 5'3 x 19 1/4 x 2 3/8 in this Model.
Then i started making the board friendly for bigger and older surfers too! The Width gave
excellent stability when taking off, the shortness helps make late drops. Enough rocker in
the nose with just the right amount of drive and release in the tail. a light double concave
split the board in two allowing rail to rail transition as a thruster while keeping a
centred feel when ridden as a quad. The board comes with 5 fin setup allowing your choice of
Fin Combinations. Ride this board 6” to 8” shorter, about 1 1/2” wider and about 1/8” thicker,
about 3"-6” shorter than you

The MC or Mini Chopper came about after a long time playing with Mini Simmons style boards. it has similar turning characteristics and the twin fins rearward giving amazing pivot.
its nose is a refinement or improvment over the wide simmons style hull nose. This helps it be much more fun in onshore and afternoon choppy conditions. ride it 10-15" shorter than your tradional shortboard or half the size of your ten foot log... more pics and details to come soon...
