Andy Campbell is well known for his groundbreaking rides at Shipsterns in Tasmania. Andy has given in on the cold and has Been living in Bali for the last couple years. Andy loves to ride different boards in different places on the wave. As the waves in Bali can be like a canvass at times and really perfect they lend themselves to alternative equipment. Dave has done lots of his experimentation there. Andy now works with Dave regularly trying Twin and Quad boards out over there. Here is a quote from a Andy regarding some testing we have been doing “Dave and I have been working on a few new concepts and testing them in the waves where I live in Bali, Indonesia. On Dave’s recent trip to Bali we worked closely on fine tuning a board design that would be suitable for a broad range of conditions. The development we have been working on from last year. The idea is to come up with a single board that is light and maneuverable in small beach break waves while maintaining integral strength and function for riding medium to large size waves over reef. We are getting close to perfecting this design and we tested a few boards at various locations on the island, trying to get a real feel for each board to discover both the positive and negative attributes. the DK8 is our result... This is a 6'2" roundtail DK at Belangan. We surfed this board in small 1-2 foot beachbreaks then right up to this day at Belangan... ALL ROUND BOARD...! 10/10.”
